Aldbrough
If allowed to come to Aldbrough, the SSE Equinor site will massively dominate and overshadow the parish of East Garton. What was once green fields, agricultural land, a bridleway would turn into an industrial site. Furthermore, two of the proposed onshore corridors cut through historical landmarks, businesses and residential properties (see page 10 of the booklet below).
Saltend
The second option would be to put the industrial site next door to the Saltend Chemicals Park, where there are already cooling towers, flare stacks, and extensive industrial landscapes.
